"The Loar" 'F' Style Mandolins
We are pleased
to announce that we have recently become dealers of "THE LOAR"
Mandolins.
These instruments are a great way to break into the world of the mandolin without
breaking the bank. They come in several styles and price points. They sound nice "as is",
or if you wish we can install one of the world famous "Cumberland Acoustic Mandolin Bridges" for you. These
are the same bridges found on many high dollar mandolins all over the world and they really do make these mandolins come alive
and sound their very best.
If you let us put our very own “C.A. Bridge" on for you, we will also give the mandolin a once-over,
including a professional level set-up, which includes: Top
quality bridge installation, fret level and dress as needed, nut slot adjustment as needed, and an adjustment of the action
for the optimum blend of tone and playability.
Here are some nice options if you prefer 'F' Style Mandolins
LM-500-VS
The Loar LM-500-VS has been carefully crafted with a hand-carved solid spruce top and hand-carved figured maple
back and sides.
The LM-500's fretboard extension has also
been scooped, allowing players to position the pick closer to the neck joint, so they can find the mandolin's “sweet
spot” without fear of the pick hitting against the higher frets.
The LM-500's aesthetics have been modernized, including an all-new “Fleur-de-Lys” style headstock inlay
for a more contemporary look. A one-piece figured maple neck, bound ebony fretboard, Grover tuning machines and an ebony bridge
round out the list of impressive features on this beautiful mandolin.

LM-520
The LM-520 is perfect for players who want a high-quality, great-sounding
hand-carved mandolin but don’t need all of the bells and whistles. These minimally appointed instruments
deliver the high-end tone, chop and projection the music community has come to expect from The Loar.
The new LM-520's have hand-carved, fully graduated spruce tops. The solid maple back of
each instrument is also hand carved, and the solid maple sides complete the package. The maple neck has a comfortable
rounded “V” profile finished with a rosewood fretboard. The compensated adjustable ebony bridge and high
quality vintage-style Grover tuning machines insure that these mandolins have great intonation and stay in tune no matter
how hard they are played.

LM-700
The Loar’s new hand carved, nitrocellulose-finished mandolin
(LM-700) is a tribute to classic design techniques. From the hand-carved, hand graduated AAA spruce top and AAA Flamed Maple
back and sides to the abalone/mother-of-pearl headstock inlay, these mandolins were built to represent Golden Age craftsmanship
updated for the modern era.
Carved and assembled
in the Loar Hand Carved Design Workshop, then hand-rubbed with nitrocellulose lacquer for clean warm tone and powerful projection,
these mandolins offer sounds that could only be previously found in instruments that were decades-old.
The Loar Hand Carved mandolin is assembled with a one-piece maple neck and bound
ebony fretboard, ebony bridge and vintage-style Gotoh tuners.
The bone nut and ebony bridge allow for the singing sustain and sharp “chop” that professional players
look for in a high-quality mandolin.
The Hand-Carved LM-700 Mandolin includes a featherweight
case with an embroidered logo.
